In short: the DSnakes Network is a hobby-turned-real project run by one person, not a
company. Be decent to other users, don't abuse the service, and understand that this is a small
independent project without the guarantees a large company might offer. Your statutory consumer
rights under EU/Belgian law are never reduced by anything below.
๐๏ธ Revision History
- 9 August 2026 โ Added section 8a (Donations to creators) covering live-stream donate links. Noted AdSense advertising in section 9 (Availability), which now cross-links our Privacy Policy's Advertising section. Account creation now requires explicitly checking a box to accept these terms and the Privacy Policy, rather than treating registration itself as implied acceptance. Added section 4a (Interactions With Other Users & In-Person Meetups) and section 11a (Indemnification), and expanded section 10 (Disclaimers) โ spelling out that we aren't liable for what happens between users, especially anything arranged in person via Dating or Hangouts, or dealt off-platform via Marketplace/Jobs/Collab. Added tools.dsnakes.com to the list of sites these terms cover โ it was missing entirely.
- 9 August 2026 (later same day) โ Expanded section 9 (Availability) to state plainly that the service isn't guaranteed to run forever and could be discontinued if it's ever not financially sustainable to keep going.
- 14 July 2026 โ Previous version (baseline for this history).
1. Acceptance of These Terms
Creating an account on any site in the DSnakes Network that requires one
(games.dsnakes.com, social.dsnakes.com, account.dsnakes.com) requires ticking a checkbox at
registration confirming you've read and agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy โ
registration isn't possible without it. Simply browsing dsnakes.com, kenionek.dsnakes.com, or
tools.dsnakes.com, which need no account, means you agree to these terms by using the service. If you do not agree, please
don't use the service. If you're using the service on behalf of someone else (for example a child),
you confirm you're authorized to accept these terms for them.
These terms work together with our Privacy Policy, which explains what
data we collect and why โ please read both.
2. Who Operates This Service
The DSnakes Network is operated by an individual โ referred to here as "Kenionek," "the operator,"
"we," or "DSnakes" โ based in Belgium. DSnakes is not a registered
company; it is run as an individual, personal project. References to "DSnakes" throughout
these terms mean the operator personally, trading under that name.
Contact: info@dsnakes.com
3. Eligibility & Accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account (or the higher minimum age of digital consent set by your country's implementation of the GDPR, if applicable).
- You're responsible for keeping your password and any two-factor authentication method secure, and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us immediately at info@dsnakes.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
- One account is shared across every site that requires login (games, social, account) โ signing in on one signs you in everywhere.
- You must provide a working email address you actually control, since it's used for login recovery and security alerts.
- Accounts are personal to you and may not be sold, transferred, or shared with anyone else.
4. Acceptable Use
When using any part of the network, you agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, bully, or abuse other users, including through chat, comments, posts, or voice/video calls.
- Upload or share content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights (including copyright), is sexually explicit involving minors, or promotes violence, hate, or discrimination.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another account, or to any part of our systems or infrastructure (including probing, scanning, or exploiting vulnerabilities without our prior written permission โ see below on responsible disclosure).
- Use bots, scripts, or automation to inflate scores, leaderboard rankings, or engagement, or to scrape the service at scale.
- Use the location-based Hangouts/Bubbles features to stalk, track, or endanger another person.
- Send spam, unsolicited advertising, or malware through chat, posts, or any other feature.
- Interfere with the normal operation of the service (e.g. denial-of-service attempts) or bypass rate limits/security controls.
Found a security issue? We welcome responsible disclosure โ email
info@dsnakes.com with details before disclosing publicly, and
don't access, modify, or delete data beyond what's needed to demonstrate the issue.
4a. Interactions With Other Users & In-Person Meetups
The network connects you with other people โ that's the point of it โ but everything that happens
between you and another user, on the platform or off it, is between you and that other person. We do
not conduct background checks, identity verification (beyond the age-tier checks
described in our Privacy Policy), or vetting of any kind on any
user, and we make no representation about any user's identity, intentions, trustworthiness, or
behaviour.
- Dating. The Dating feature on social.dsnakes.com surfaces potential matches and
can arrange an in-person meetup at a public place both people agree to. Whether to engage with a
match at all, whether to meet in person, and every safety precaution around doing so (meeting in
a genuinely public place, telling someone else where you're going, arranging your own
transport, trusting your own judgment) is entirely your decision and your
responsibility. We are not involved in, and have no visibility into, what happens at
any meetup, and we are not liable for anything that occurs there or as a result of it.
- Hangouts & Bubbles. These location-based features are opt-in (see our
Privacy Policy) and let you discover and attend events, or see nearby posts, from other users. The
same principle applies: choosing to attend an event or meet someone through these features is
your own decision, made with your own judgment about the risk involved.
- Marketplace, Jobs/Gigs & Collab Board. These are listing boards only โ see
each feature's own notice, but in short: DSnakes never processes any payment, never holds
funds, and is not a party to any transaction, job, or collaboration arranged through them.
Buyers, sellers, employers, freelancers, and collaborators deal with each other directly and
entirely at their own risk, including agreeing on and exchanging payment through whatever means
they choose off-platform. We don't verify what's listed, who's listing it, or that either side
will hold up their end of anything agreed.
- Chat, calls, and anything else that connects you to another user carry the same
principle: we provide the tool, not a guarantee about the person on the other end of it.
None of this reduces your right to report another user whose conduct violates section
4 above โ we do act on reports, including removing content and suspending or banning accounts (section
6). It just means we are a platform connecting you to other people, not a party to, guarantor of, or
participant in whatever happens between you and them.
5. Your Content & Our License to Use It
"Your content" means anything you upload, post, or send through the network โ posts, comments,
photos, videos (including Shorts, longform videos, remixes, and Bubbles), music tracks, profile
information, and chat messages.
- You own your content. We don't claim ownership of anything you create or upload.
- You grant us a license to host and display it. By uploading content, you give DSnakes a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, host, reproduce, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the service to you and the users you share it with (e.g. showing your video to your friends, or on a public tutorial/video/music page if you chose to make it public).
- You're responsible for what you upload. You confirm you have the necessary rights to anything you upload (e.g. it's your own original music/video, or you're otherwise authorized to share it), and that it doesn't violate section 4 above or anyone else's rights.
- The license ends when your content is removed. If you delete a post, video, or track (or delete your account), the license ends for that content, subject to reasonable time for removal from backups and any copies already legitimately shared or cached by other users before deletion.
- Report function. If you believe content violates these terms, use the in-app report feature (posts, tutorials, videos, music, users) or email us.
6. Moderation, Suspension & Termination
- We may remove content, or suspend or terminate an account, that violates these terms โ including content flagged through reports and reviewed by an admin.
- Where practical, we'll aim to be proportionate (e.g. removing a single offending post rather than banning an account outright for a first, minor issue), but we reserve the right to act immediately for serious violations (e.g. illegal content, harassment, security abuse).
- You can delete your own account at any time via account.dsnakes.com. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what account deletion does (in short: your personal data is anonymized, not hard-deleted, so other users' shared content like group chats and comment threads stays intact).
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) continue to apply after your account is closed.
7. Intellectual Property
Aside from user content (section 5), the DSnakes Network โ including its code, design, graphics, the
Kenionek mascot/branding, and original game assets โ is the intellectual property of the operator or
its licensors. You may not copy, redistribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the
platform itself (as opposed to your own uploaded content) without prior written permission.
8. Third-Party Services & Links
Some features rely on third-party services (for example, Google Sign-In, GIPHY, embedded YouTube/
Spotify players, and OpenStreetMap-based map/geocoding services) โ see our
Privacy Policy for the full list. We aren't responsible for
the content, policies, or practices of third-party services or any external site you reach through a
link on the network.
social.dsnakes.com also shows a small number of Google AdSense ads, gated behind
cookie consent โ see our Privacy Policy's Advertising section
for exactly what that involves and what data it touches.
8a. Donations to Creators
A streamer on social.dsnakes.com can optionally add their own donation link (e.g. Ko-fi, PayPal.me,
Patreon) to their channel page. Clicking it takes you to that third-party service, entirely outside
the DSnakes Network.
- We are not a party to, and do not process, any donation. Money never passes
through DSnakes โ it goes directly from you to the streamer via whatever service they linked.
- We don't verify, endorse, or guarantee anything about a streamer's donation link, and can't help
resolve a dispute about a donation once it's been sent โ that's between you and the streamer (and
the third-party payment service they used).
- A streamer is responsible for their own tax/legal obligations relating to any donations they
receive; that's outside the scope of the DSnakes Network entirely.
9. Availability & Changes to the Service
This is an independent, self-hosted project run by one person, not a large company with a dedicated
uptime team. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all
times, and we may add, change, or remove features at our discretion. We'll try to give reasonable
notice for anything major where practical.
We do not guarantee the service will exist forever. The network is currently free to
use and self-funded, with the small amount of AdSense advertising mentioned above helping cover
hosting/infrastructure costs โ it is not backed by outside investment or a company with guaranteed
longevity. If it's ever no longer sustainable (financially or otherwise) to keep a site, or the whole
network, running, it may be discontinued at our discretion. We'll try to give reasonable notice where
practical, but that isn't always possible for an independent, self-funded project.
10. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided "as is" and "as
available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including
(without limitation) implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and
non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be secure, uninterrupted, or free of
errors, or that any content (including user content) is accurate or reliable.
This specifically includes โ see section 4a for the full detail โ that we make no warranty
about any user's identity, intentions, or conduct, on or off the platform, and no warranty
about the outcome of any interaction, transaction, meetup, or arrangement with another user.
Nothing in this section limits any statutory guarantee or consumer protection right you have
under mandatory Belgian or EU law that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited โ where such a
right applies, it applies regardless of anything above.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operator will not be liable for any indirect,
incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill,
arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service โ even if advised of the possibility of
such damages. Where liability cannot legally be excluded, the operator's total liability for any
claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12
months before the claim (which, since the network is currently free to use, will typically be โฌ0),
or (b) โฌ50.
This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded or limited under mandatory
Belgian or EU law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for
fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
11a. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the operator from and against any claim, demand,
loss, liability, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:
- your use of the service;
- your content (anything you upload, post, or send โ section 5);
- your violation of these terms, including the Acceptable Use section (section 4);
- your interaction, dealing, or in-person meetup with any other user, including anything arranged
through Dating, Hangouts, Marketplace, Jobs/Gigs, or the Collab Board (section 4a); or
- your violation of any right of a third party, including intellectual property, privacy, or
publicity rights.
In plain terms: if something you did, posted, or arranged with another user leads to a claim against
us, that's on you, not us โ this section is what makes that concrete rather than just implied
elsewhere in these terms. This does not apply to a claim arising from our own breach of these terms or
our own negligence, and nothing here removes any right you have under mandatory Belgian or EU consumer
law that cannot lawfully be limited (same carve-out as section 11 above).
12. Governing Law & Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Belgium, without regard to conflict-of-law
principles. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you also benefit from any mandatory consumer
protection provisions of the law of your own country of residence, and nothing here removes your
right to bring proceedings in your local courts where EU consumer law guarantees that right, or your
right to use the EU's
Online Dispute Resolution
platform. Subject to that, the courts of Belgium have jurisdiction over any dispute not otherwise
resolved directly with us.
We'd genuinely rather sort out a problem directly โ please email
info@dsnakes.com before pursuing anything formal.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example as the network gains new features. The
"last updated" date at the top will change when we do. For significant changes, we'll aim to give
notice (such as a site-wide announcement) before they take effect. Continuing to use the service
after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
